Increasingly popular are vaulted roofs with skylights and large glazed lanterns on flat-roofs. The problems associated with these structures is that they want to sag. hemis has the experience and engineering skills to design the structure required to support the roof and lantern.

The simplest material to use is timber and hemis try to size structural members using timber where possible. But generally, steel has be used and hemis will prepare detailed drawings on how to build the steel-frame and how the frame will join with the rest of the structure so that any steel will not be visible. hemis prepare all fabrication drawings required to construct a steel-frame including connections and padstones if required.

hemis will also show details of thermal-insulation, prevention of the spread of fire, ventilation and water-proofing if requested.

All drawings and calculations are suitable for builders to use and for Building Control approval. If requested, hemis would submit the drawings to the local Building Control Office and act as your Agent throughout the project, answering questions raised by the Building Control Officer or builder as the work progresses.
